The Questionnaire with Sandeep Parikh / By Dotan Schachter
Aug 2nd, 2010 • Categories: Actors, Additional Questionnaires, Filmmakers, Producers, WritersWhat are you doing these days?
Editing the Legend of Neil, flying to London for my brother’s wedding, recovering from Comic-Con and my 30th b-day, editing the Legend of Neil, murdering puppies. Only one of those things was not true, can you guess which
What turns you on creatively?
Genre bending. I love things that mesh genres, stuff like Sean of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, Army of Darkness, Princess Bride. Stuff that mixes fantasy, comedy, horror and action in unique ways. Whenever I see a movieTV show like that, I want to emulate it. That gives me a creativity boner
If you were a mind-reader whose mind would you like to read?
Let’s be honest, the answer is every girl that I was remotely interested in, just so you don’t waste anyone’s time. I would love to live in a world where everyone would wear interest rings so that you could just press them together and if they’re both green that means it’s a go! So yes, I’d like to be Mel Gibson in What Women Want, but in every other way I would like to specifically not be Mel Gibson.
If you could travel in time, which era would you visit?
The Renaissance, so I could cheaply get a lot of the props I would need for the Legend of Neil. Other than that, I’d like to travel to the future because I pretty sure in general, the past sucked. I saw Back to the future 3, the water is brown! Gross. I guess if I could bring a britta, the wild west would be cool.
What is your favorite sound?
Laughter by a big audience. It’s like a drug. The second you get it, you want so much more of it. Screening the Legend of Neil at Comicon is the biggest payoff of months and months of hard work. Just to watch it with that energy, the live sound track, it makes life worth living. That and sex.
What is the album or song that influences you the most?
I love epic soundtracks. Braveheart. (why Mel Gibson why are you a huge douchenozzle)!
Who would you like to collaborate with And why?
Mel Gibson. Ok, I’ll stop. I’d love to collaborate with Edgar Wright. I just love everything he’s done and am really looking forward to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
What drives you crazy?
Right now, it’s my back. I’ve become an old man over night. I blame the 14 years of competitive gymnastics destroying my joints.
What makes you laugh?
A good solid dick joke with a twist. I love smart and dirty humor. It’s hard to pull off, yet so satisfying. The South Park guys are geniuses at that.
If you had 3 wishes what would they be?
I wish I could never age physically from 25 on out. I’m fine with staying mortal, I just don’t want to decay. So as soon as I hit 95 or whatever, click, dead.
I wish that American healthcare wasn’t the dumbest thing on the planet
I wish my back didn’t hurt.
Are you sensing a theme?
What is the craziest thing you ever did?
Make a show about a guy who masturbates himself into Zelda and then somehow get a TV pilot deal out of it.
What makes you feel embarrassed?
Anytime I show anything I made to my parents who really wish that I would just make a nice movie like that Steven Spielberg fellow
Sandeep Parikh is a creator, writer, director, editor, voice artist for opening credits, aquamentus, skeletons, title whore.
Sandeep is primarily a writer/director who only acts in hit web series like The Guild (as the lovable stalker Zaboo) when he doesn’t have to audition. Sandeep created Effinfunny.com a stand up comedy video site/production company and lately has been producing TV commercials for AbsolutePoker.net. He plays guitar, is an improvisor, and used to be a gymnast, so needless to say his resume looks like his computer just threw up random phrases on a word doc. Directing the Legend of Neil for Atom.com/Comedy Central was a dream come true. Sandeep also loves you.
