The Questionnaire with David Baron / By Dotan Schachter

"My favorite sound(s) are inappropriate for print."

What are you doing these days?
Professionally I am working on DETECTIVE COMICS #865, BATMAN: CONFIDENTIAL #45 and BATMAN BEYOND vol.2 #1. My life is consumed by the Dark Knight and I would not have it any other way.
Personally, I am about to celebrate my 2nd anniversary with my wife and then shortly after that my son’s first birthday. All exciting times.

What turns you on creatively?
That is a tough question. My best answer would be life. My art seems to come out best when I am exposed to an experience in my life that affects me so much that I have to create something then and there. Most of my paintings are done after I have traveled. I tend to sketch more as I am traveling as the day to day grind fades away and my imagination gets to go wild.

If you were a mind-reader whose mind would you like to read?
My bar tenders. I would like to know if he is going to give me a proper pour or if I should move to the next pub.

If you could travel in time, which era would you visit?
I have always thought it would be the 50’s/60’s in America, but now I just want to see what the future holds. I would love visit 2999 and see if the world still thinks it is going to end when we hit 3000. Plus, I am sure they will be able to travel in space by then and I really want to know what aliens look like.

What is your favorite sound?
My favorite sound(s) are inappropriate for print.

What is the album or song that influences you the most?
As for most people I think, I have a song/album for every major event in my life. Each has fond memories or life lessons attached. Some to note: Garbage & No Doubt was playing when I first started in Comics. Brand New/The Killers/YYY’s was playing during my bar years, which is where I starting finally understanding people and life a bit better. Ying Yang Twins helped me smile & MUFC fight songs helped let me breathe while understanding life is to short not to act like a kid from time to time.

Who would you like to collaborate with? And why?
I would love to be a part of a hollywood film project with Quentin Tarantino, Brad Pitt and George Clooney. Sure there is a ton of other fantastic people I would want to work with and other types of projects. But with those three no matter what we decided to do, I know it would be fun, artistic and very creative.

What drives you crazy?
Rude people. Joking around with your friends is one thing, just being a disgusting human is another. I miss the days of my grandfather when someone was being a jerk you could just pop them in the nose. Now everyone thinks they are a cage fighter and thinks its cool to act tough. Read a book.

What makes you laugh?
Sex with Robots. Can not get enough of Robot Sex jokes.

If you had 3 wishes what would they be?
1. More wishes. No? How about trade bank accounts with Bill Gates. 2. Not so much world peace, that could be a nightmare. But no more unbalanced war or fighting. I am tired of the little people getting the low end of the stick. 3. Free first class airfare for me and my choosing on planes that will never have turbulence and never EVER crash! I hate when they crash.

What is the craziest thing you ever did?
I am not allowed to say. No really. I can’t. But it would make a great movie!

What makes you feel embarrassed?
Ignorant People. I am always embarrassed for them.

What are your favorite web-sites (not including the ones that you are participate in)?
I check this site twice a day.

My RSS feeds include:
geekologie.com
probablybadnews.com
passiveaggressivenotes.com

What is the silliest thing you have ever done?
Jennifer, she was pretty silly.

How would you make the world a better place?
By taking out half of the population.

What is your biggest weakness?
I am a sucker for candy. I have entered way to many vans for a SNICKERS candy bar and that has never turned out in my favor.

Where will you be in 10 years?
20 minutes outside of London, rich, laughing and watching a proper game of football.

Write a question that you’d like to ask yourself and answer it.
Q:What would you rather: Have sex with a robot that looks like Roseanne Bar, or die?
A: Whoa David, a little dramatic don’t you think?
I love answering questions with questions. High class all the way.

Who would you like to see answer this Questionnaire?
John Layman, there is no one better on the earth. Or Ben McCool. Oh, or the guy who draws spiders in hopes they will take that instead of money. No no no, this DJ, final answer.
