What are you doing these days?
I am getting ready to go install a show in Denmark. While there, I’ll shoot some footage for background projections for a filming of Hamlet in LA. Good timing--the trip and subject matter!

What turns you on creatively?
A conversation, great film, good idea, something that hits on several levels.

If you were a mind-reader whose mind would you like to read?
Alfred Hitchcock’s

If you could travel in time, which era would you visit?
late 1950′s

What is your favorite sound?
train horn blowing late at night

What is the album or song that influences you the most?
Missy Elliot’s “The Cookbook.” The mix and change in the music is unexpected and exciting!

Who would you like to collaborate with? And why?
David Lynch, Martin Scorsese, Missy Elliot, Hans Op de Beek (he has made art that challenges the idea of scale, but his work is so clean and mine is so dirty)

What drives you crazy?
When things are slow and I am moving fast.

What makes you laugh?
dumb comedies made for teenage and adult boys

If you had 3 wishes what would they be?
eternal happiness, the ability to run like a natural runner, lots of money for a long time

What is the craziest thing you ever did?
While in a pub in Australia, I pierced an angry biker’s nose with a dirty airforce pin from his leather jacket’s lapel while he yelled profanities at me. But I had the last laugh because the location of the piercing inadvertently started his tear ducts, making him look like he was crying.

What makes you feel embarrassed?
adamantly standing by information that I find out is wrong

What are your favorite web-sites (not including the ones that you are participate in)?
IMDB is great for researching film clips. There are also some that I cannot mention.

What is the silliest thing you have ever done?
When I was in 3rd grade, the catholic nun at my catechism class asked why I didn’t go to Easter Sunday mass. Instead of telling her that we went Saturday night (which we did), I said that my whole family slept in and didn’t wake up until 4pm on Sunday.

How would you make the world a better place?
I would like to come up with a compassion formula that could be added to the worldwide water supplies.

What is your biggest weakness?
Good food, wine, and taking on multiple projects at one time.

Where will you be in 10 years?
I’d love to be making some films, doing art installations in strange unexpected places (under bridges, in a convenience store), and seeing more of the world.

What is one of your favorite films?
Too many to choose, but the one that blew my mind was Gerry. Two young guys go to the desert for a day hike, get lost, and the form of the film follows the denial and meandering of getting lost.
