The Questionnaire with Carrie Lee Touhey (AskCarrieLee) / By Dotan Schachter

"Time. I never feel as if I have enough of it and yet I’m great at procrastinating"

What are you doing these days?
Most recently I’ve been working on opening a part-time home-based cookie business. Baking cookies for orders that ship once or twice monthly. I’m trying my best to get to a point where I can work from home full time to raise my family.

What turns you on creatively?
I suppose when it comes to photography as a hobby, I’m inspired to take a shot when a good one presents itself. As far as video blogging or parody creating, it’s either as a response to something in the media or a video on youtube. Where actual blogging is concerned, I suppose I blog when I think I really need to say something but not necessarily put it in video format. I guess you could say I’m an opportunistic artist!

If you were a mind-reader whose mind would you like to read?
I’d love to be able to read the mind of my kids. I want to know what terrible plot their up to next.

If you could travel in time, which era would you visit?
No question I’d visit the future. I’d like to know if it’s possible for humanity to survive ourselves.

What is your favorite sound?
$$$ Ca-ching $$$… That and peepers on an early spring day… yeah, let’s go with peepers.

What is the album or song that influences you the most?
Bob Marley’s, Legend. I love a good old school reggae beat. It calms me down whenever I’m stressed or need to clear my mind.

Who would you like to collaborate with? And why?
Michael Buckley. We’ve actually collaborated about a half dozen times over the last few years, but I’d love to work on a real project with him. He’s someone I really look up to in the Youtube community. He embodies drive, focus, determination and living the dream.

What drives you crazy?
Waiting for the internet to load. I have absolutely no patience when it comes to something not loading online at lightening quick speed. I like to multi-task, so slow doesn’t work for me. Also people who say PIN Number. It’s either your PIN or your Personal Identification Number… Not your Personal Identification Number Number, Mmmkay?

What makes you laugh?
My husband. He always something offbeat at just the right moment. And in highschool, ya know the freshman who’s backpacks were bigger than themselves! They made me laugh too.

If you had 3 wishes what would they be?
Easy.
1. A long healthy, happy life for me and my family.
2. Enough wealth to at least live comfortably, be able to pay the bills, take a vacation and splurge once in awhile. It doesn’t need to be millions.
3. More wishes! Ha, see!? There, I tricked you!

What is the craziest thing you ever did?
When I was 16 my best friend and I jumped out of her window and cruised around town with a couple of guys. We got caught by the police for being out after hours and my parents had to come pick me up while I was sitting in the back of a cruiser – crying my eyes out!

What makes you feel embarrassed?
I get embarrassed when I don’t know the answer to something or I really should know the answer and I look like a total idiot. This happened once when a guy I was dating was talking about the rims on a car. I had no idea what the rims were and he told me the “even the dumbest blonde he’d ever met knew what rims were and how did I not know!?” I felt pretty stupid but I’ll never forget where the rims on a tire are.

What are your favorite web-sites (not including the ones that you are participate in)?
I love Stumbleupon.com. I really think it’s a fun thing to do when you aren’t sure what it is you want to do. I’ve found some terrific sites on photography and humor through that website. I also love failblog.org because come on, who doesn’t love a good fail?

What is the silliest thing you have ever done?
My friends and I walked around the mall when we were teenagers and acted as though we had, um, problems – mental problems shall we say? I’m a fairly decent actress and had many people feeling very sorry for me. We were laughing so hard we could barely contain ourselves; looking back it was extremely foolish.

How would you make the world a better place?
*Begin Hippie Monologue* I think we as a species need to do a hell of a lot more than we are right now to ensure that our world is still a viable place for us to live in. I, as well as most of us, are part of a huge problem. Water is drying up, resources are being depleted, and yet our world is getting fatter & unhealthier by the day. If we don’t shape up and start worrying the world as a whole, and not just ourselves, we’re going to be in big trouble.
But to answer the question, how would I make the world a better place? I’d like to give us a “redo” option. Let us, knowing what we know now, start over with the planet. Recycle, reuse, fair trade and from day one be globally conscience.

What is your biggest weakness?
Time. I never feel as if I have enough of it and yet I’m great at procrastinating. And cashews, I’m a sucker for a whole, lightly salted cashew.

Where will you be in 10 years?
In ten years I hope to have a business of my own. I picture a nice little cottage shop, a Cafe & Bakery. A place to get a great cup of coffee, talk with locals, grab a donut or breakfast sandwich in the morning, cookies and cakes in the afternoon for dessert while you read the paper in peace. I can’t wait for the day that happens, until then, I’m working towards it one cookie at a time… It would be great to be making videos on Youtube too, ya know, if it’s still there in a decade – or if anyone wants to watch me at 40! Write a question that you like to ask yourself and answer it.
Q. Why don’t you make more videos?
A. I have ups & downs when it comes to video making. I go through spurts where I make a video once or twice a week, and other times where I make one once or twice every month or two. The encouragement I get from my viewers when I do make one usually inspires me to make more and more often. Right now I’m just in a rut because I’m trying to get another business off the ground.

Who would you like to answer the Questionnaire?
John Lacey, he’s a terrific blogger/vlogger that I truly enjoy. He’s very honest and I love it!. I’d be interested in reading his answers to these questions.
